Factory Manual: OOOServer backend

Support for Libreoffice uses the unoconv command line tool. This runs LibreOffice in headless mode. The LibreOffice? support is only able to produce ODF roundtrip and PDF export output.

Note that unoconv can be used with multiple versions of LibreOffice?. The factory configuration script which is explained in the Quickstart will try to detect and configure many versions of LibreOffice? for use by Officeshots. So you can install LibreOffice? versions 4.3.x and 5.x on the same machine and the factory will be able to process documents using both versions of LibreOffice?.

In addition to unoconv you will need the Python UNO bridge installed for your LibreOffice? installation. This is an option offered by the wizard during installation on Windows and should be a package available in your Linux distribution.

On OSX you currently have to run LibreOffice as the user who is logged into the machine. The simple way to do this is to run the factory as the user who is logged into the machine.
